What is the קשר?

I just got to the computer lab where I have statistics class. When I got there the air conditioner made an interesting noise. One guy said to another: "Wow, did you hear the air conditioner?"
"I thought that was a computer."
"No, it was the air conditioner."
"That's YU for you."
What is the connection?

  2. the air conditioner is Torah- air is our lifesource, as Torah is our chiyus. The computer represents maddah, the portal to the world of secular information. That chashuva yid was pointing out that only in YU would one confuse Torah and maddah, and equate the "sound" or call of the sweet Torah with that of secular achievement. Truly a deep teaching for us all to reflect on! Shkoyach!

If talking is worth one manneh, then silence is worth 2.

but as the Rebbe explains: "better to speak, bc you can say a lot of things, but you can only be silent once"

  9. and according to zlou's pshat that's probably why we had hag hasimkha this past week, so YU k'darko ha'kodesh, can take something like receiving rabbinic ordination and infuse it with a goyisha twist, so much so that it almost appeared to be just another graduation ceremony
